Paris Saint-Germain were 3-1 winners over 10-man Marseille in Le Classique at the Parc des Princes on move 20 points clear at the top of France’s Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Kylian Mbappé slotted home his 26th league goal of the season in first half stoppage time to give Thomas Tuchel’s side the lead, but Marseille replied immediately after the break when Valere Germain netted.

Two moments of magic from Angel Di Maria in the second half sealed the three points for the Parisians. First, the Argentina international weaved in and out of the Marseille defence before playing a one-two with Thilo Kehrer before curling into the far post from a tight angle.

Goalkeeper Steve Mandanda was shown a red card just after the hour mark for a handball outside the penalty area. Di Maria stepped up for the resulting free kick to curl home a stunning 30-yard free kick. Substitute goalkeeper Yohann Pelé’s first touch was to pick the ball out of the back of the net.

Pelé did deny Mbappé from the penalty spot late on.

PSG now have 77 points from 28 games, with Lille in second with 57 from 29 games.
