Highlights: PSV 4-0 PEC Zwolle

By on 5th April 2019

PSV Eindhoven restored their two-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie with a comfortable 4-0 thrashing of PEC Zwolle at the Philips Stadion on Sunday.

Mark van Bommel’s side had seen their lead at the top of the table reduced from five points to two last weekend as they went down 1-3 at 10-man Ajax.

The Amsterdam side then leapfrogged their rivals on Saturday with a 5-2 thrashing away to Emmen before PSV played catchup on Sunday.

Luuk de Jong’s 24th goal of the season midway through the first half gave PSV the lead but it wouldn’t be until Steven Bergwijn’s goal after the hour that the home fans could rest with a 2-0 lead.

De Jong added a second 15 minutes from time before 20-year-old Donyell Malen grabbed a fourth in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

PSV have a two-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie with six games remaining ahead of their trip to Vitesse next weekend.
