Highlights: Arsenal 2-0 Napoli

Arsenal pulled off a huge result at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night as they beat Napoli 2-0 in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final.

Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring on 14 minutes before a Kalidou Koulibaly own goal 10 minutes later doubled the advantage for the Premier League side.

The Italian side had come into the first leg as favourites for the tie but only tested Petr Cech in the Arsenal goal on two occasions over the 90 minutes, whilst their own goalkeeper, Alex Meret, was called into action on several occasions.

Mesut Ozil was given a rare start for the Gunners in what was otherwise a near full-strength squad named by Unai Emery, who has a great record in this competition having won it in three successive seasons as Sevilla manager earlier this decade.

Arsenal are back in action on Monday night when they travel to Watford in the Premier League, only three days before the return leg in Naples. Napoli are in action at bottom club Chievo Verona more than 24 hours earlier.
