Highlights: Chelsea 4-3 Slavia Prague

Chelsea safely progressed to the semi-finals of this season’s Europa League with a 5-3 aggregate victory over Czech outfit Slavia Prague, winning 4-3 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

Maurizio Sarri’s team raced into a 2-0 lead after only nine minutes through Pedro and an own goal from Simon Deli from the visitors. Olivier Giroud then made it 3-0 after only 17 minutes and the tie was dead and burried.

Slavia Prague scored their first goal of the tie on 25 minutes through Tomas Soucek but quickly found themselves conceding again as Pedro scored his second of the game only two minutes later.

The Premier League side had fielded a strong lineup but the Italian manager was quick to rest Eden Hazard and Pedro in the second half, perhaps with Monday night’s Premier League game against Burnley in mind.

Petr Sevcik scored twice in quick succession early in the second half for the visitors to reduce the scoreline to 4-3 but that would be all the goal action for the remainder of the game.
