Highlights: Juventus 2-1 Fiorentina

By on 20th April 2019

Juventus claimed the Serie A title for an eighth consecutive season following a 2-1 win at home to Fiorentina on Saturday.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side did it the hard way at the Allianz Stadium after they fell behind to a Nikola Milenkovic goal after only six minutes.

The Turin giants put Tuesday night’s Champions League elimination misery behind them to come from behind and beat Fiorentina, first when Alex Sandro equalised eight minutes before half-time and then German Pezzella’s own goal to give the hosts the leads eight minutes after the break.

Fiorentina caused Wojciech Szczesny a couple of problems in the Juventus goal but they held on to claim an eighth successive Scudetto and an Italian record 35th overall.

In the process, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player to win the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A titles.

Fiorentina are back in action on Thursday night when they travel to Atalanta for the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.
