Highlights: Aberdeen 0-3 Celtic

By on 4th May 2019

Celtic wrapped up their eighth consecutive Scottish Premiership title with a convincing 3-0 win away to Aberdeen on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead five minutes before half-time following a diving header from defender Mikael Lustig. Aberdeen striker James Wilson had earlier hit the post from a very good opportunity.

Neil Lennon’s side were firmly in control eight minutes into the second half when Jozo Simunovic rose to meet a Callum McGregor corner. Odsonne Edouard sealed the emphatic victory three minutes from time.

This is Celtic’s second trophy of the season having already won the League Cup. The Bhoys can complete a domestic treble when they take on Hearts in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park on Saturday 25 May.

Defeat for Aberdeen leaves them behind Kilmarnock on goal difference in their battle for third spot, with only two games remaining. Defeat to Rangers last weekend saw the Glasgow side wrap up the runners-up spot.
