By on 12th May 2019

Paris Saint-Germain ended their run of three consecutive defeats on the road with a 2-1 victory at Angers on Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel’s side didn’t do it without a challenge though as they were reduced to 10 men in the final five minutes before conceding a goal.

Neymar had opened the scoring for the 2018-19 French Ligue 1 champions on 20 minutes before setting up Angel Di Maria to make it 2-0 just before the hour.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men as Marquinhos was shown a straight red card after tangling with Angers’ Wilfried Kanga. Flavien Tait then pulled one back for the hosts after Gianluigi Buffon had saved the midfielder’s penalty. PSG were able to hold on and see out the victory in the closing stages.

Each side have two games remaining of the season with PSG hosting Dijon in their final home game of the season next weekend. Angers are down in 13th but can still finish in the top half. They are assured of their Ligue 1 status for next season.
