Highlights: Man City 2-2 Spurs

Manchester City were left frustrated by VAR as their 15-game Premier League winning run came to an end with a 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Raheem Sterling had put the hosts ahead on 20 minutes with an excellent header across goal from a sublime cross from deep by Kevin De Bruyne.

Tottenham equalised against the run of play just three minutes later when Erik Lamela was able to pick the ball up from deep, turn and run at the City defence unopposed before curling a 25-yard effort into Ederson’s bottom corner.

Another cracking cross from De Bruyne saw Pep Guardiola’s side retake the lead 10 minutes before half-time. The Belgian playmaker whipped a low cross into the six-yard that was tucked home by Sergio Aguero from close range.

Lucas Moura was introduced 10 minutes into the second half and headed home Lamela’s corner with his first touch to draw Spurs level again.

Oleksandr Zinchenko had seen a deflected effort well saved by Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal and Bernardo Silva looped an effort onto the bar before the French goalkeeper flopped onto the ball to deny Aguero his second tap in of the game.

Substitute Gabriel Jesus thought he’d won the game for Manchester City in stoppage time only for the Brazilian striker to see his effort ruled out by VAR replays showed the ball hitting the arm of Aymeric Laporte into his path.
