Highlights: Sheffield United 1-0 Crystal Palace

Sheffield United picked up their first win since returning to the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

John Lundstram’s strike early in the second half proved to be enough against Roy Hodgson’s Palace, who offered very little in attack at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

The Blades created the better of the chances as they took the game to the visitors whilst also remaining tactically solid defensively.

David McGoldrick had spurned a golden opportunity to give Sheffield United a first half lead before midfielder Lundstram was on hand to smash home the Yorkshire club’s winner from 10 yards after Luke Freeman’s effort had been blocked.

Attention was on Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha heading into the game as the forward as only named as a substitute in their opening weekend 0-0 draw against Everton. However, the Ivorian was shackled throughout the 90 minutes by Chris Wilder’s defence.
