Highlights: Brentford 0-1 Leicester

By on 25th January 2020

Leicester City were 1-0 winners in the final ever FA Cup tie at Griffin Park as they eliminated Brentford in the fourth round on Saturday.

Dennis Praet’s perfect through ball from the halfway line released James Justin down the right wing, who had the simple task to pick out an unmarked Kelechi Iheanacho from a close range tap in for the game’s only goal in the fourth minute.

Brendan Rodgers made nine changes to his regular starting lineup, with Caglar Soyuncu and Ayoze Perez the only regulars remaining.  Danny Ward played between the sticks whilst Christian Fuchs returned at left-back. Hamza Choudhury’s name was on the teamsheet again after missing the defeat at Burnley after turning up to late to training.

Brentford themselves rotated a number of regulars as Thomas Frank’s side are putting up a serious promotion challenge for the Premier League this season. Elimination for the Bees won’t come as a huge disappointment whilst Leicester City should be considered potential winners of this season’s FA Cup.
