Highlights: Borussia Dortmund 0-1 Bayern Munich

By on 26th May 2020

Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to seven points with a 1-0 win away to rivals Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday afternoon.

We’re into the third round of fixtures since the disruption caused by COVID-19 and the Bavarians continue where they left off, winning three out of three under Hansi Flick.

Borussia Dortmund saw the majority of possession and territory at Signal Iduna Park in this game but never really threatened Manuel Neuer’s goal at all as the Bayern Munich defence were well organised in and around their own penalty area.

The winning goal came in the final minute of the first half when Joshua Kimmich produced a scintillating chip over Roman Burki from outside the penalty area.

Much of the pre-match attention had been on strikers Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski, but they combined for just one shot on target between them. That came from the Norwegian teenager, who also limped off in the final 20 minutes.
