Highlights: West Brom 0-3 Leicester

Jamie Vardy scored two penalties in the second half as Leicester City ran away with victory away to newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies had held Leicester to a stalemate at the half before new summer signing Timothy Castagne headed the visitors into the lead 10 minutes after the break.

Vardy was then dragged down off the ball inside the penalty area by Kyle Bartley in the final 20 minutes. Referee Anthony Taylor immediately pointed to the spot after Harvey Barnes’ effort was saved. The former England striker coolly curled his spot kick into the corner.

10 minutes later Dara O’Shea kicked James Justin instead of the ball inside the penalty area and Jamie Vardy placed his second spot kick into the same corner as the first to make it 3-0.

Kasper Schmeichel was barely tested all game at the other end so West Brom manager Slaven Bilic may want to look what’s available on the transfer market between now and 5 October.

The Foxes’ second game of the season is at home to Burnley on Saturday, whilst West Brom go to Everton in the lunchtime kickoff on the same day.
